Obituary for Mary Rudko
It is with profound sadness, that we announce the passing of Mary on June 6, 2012 at the age of 91 years at the Arborg Personal Care Home.
She was predeceased by her husband Steve, her parents, Father Anton (born in Kapychyne’s, Austria) mother Julia (born in Lubianko, Austria) brother’s Valdimer, Harry, Alexander, Nickolos, Steve, sisters Anne and Jean, Sisters-in-law Nellie and Jessie Klym, nephews Victor, Eddy, Ronald, Steven and Ernie.
Remaining to forever cherish Mary’s memory are sister’s Elsie (Joe) Rechik, Rose (Al) Roberecki as well as numerous nieces, nephews and families.
In 1941 Mary worked in Toronto, ON. In 1942 Steve and Mary were married in Toronto, ON; they worked there until Steve was conscripted into the army, stationed in Vernon B.C. Then they returned and settled in the Arborg, Manitoba area, farmed until Steve’s passing on May 23, 1998.
After Steve’s passing Mary continued living on the farm, until September 7, 2004, then moved to the town of Arborg, MB.
She lived 57 years on the farm and 3 years in the town of Arborg, MB. She possessed unlimited energy, determination and great independence always showering affection to her loved ones, never a task to hard or one she did not accomplish, always giving, never asking.
Her passion for house plants and outside flowers were always evident in the colorful display.
She appreciated and enjoyed a full life, until suffering a stroke on September 20, 2007, then another stroke a month later.
She was confined to Arborg Hospital, River View Health Centre, Selkirk Tudor House and Arborg Personal Care Home, was grateful for the care and kindness the doctors, nurses and staff gave her.
The family wishes to express thanks to the doctors, nurses, staff, private consultant, therapists, respite, care workers, paramedics, director Ken Loehmer of MacKenzie Funeral Chapel for their services.
Very special thanks to doctor J.R. Donnelly, for being there when needed and consulting with the family changes in Mary’s health. Appreciation is extended to the family members, neighbours and friends for their visits and comfort, as expressions of sympathy.

Funeral Service was held on Monday, June 11, 2012 at 11:00 am with viewing at 10:30 am in The Sacred Heart Ukrainian Catholic Church in Arborg. Rev. Father Harry Chuckry officiated. Interment took place at Bjarmi Cemetery.
