Florence Anna Anderson
On Wednesday, February 15, 2017 Florence Anna Anderson passed away at the Grace Hospital at the age of 89 years.
Florence lived in Dominion City then moved to Winnipeg to attend United College. After College she taught in a one-room-school in Napinka. Returning to Winnipeg, Florence worked for the Royal Bank until she married Finn Anderson and moved to Pointe du Bois. There they started a family and built enduring friendships while enjoying boating,fishing,swimming,curling and making music. Florence resumed her career at the Royal Bank in Winnipeg in 1966 when Finn passed away. She worked there for over 25 years.
Florence enjoyed many activities and made many friends. She was an enthusiastic volunteer at various clubs and organizations. She was an active member of the ladies auxiliary at the Fort Garry Legion, and an avid curler and golfer. She skied cross country, did yoga and played bridge. Florence loved to dance: ballroom, line and square dancing. What she loved more than anything was spending time with her grandchildren. Family was the joy of her life.
Florence is survived by her three children Diane Allison (Neil), Marilyn Gill (Rick) and Brad Anderson; and by her grandchildren Trevor Gill, Amanda Gill, Jane Allison, Finley Allison, Laura Anderson and Kelsey Anderson.
Also her brother Lorne Chlup (Hazel), sister Elaine Schwenneker (Greg) and brother-in-law Osborne Scott, sisters-in-law Ida Anderson, Helga Anderson, and Carol Darragh (Brian), as well as many nieces and nephews. Florence was predeceased by her parents, Caroline and Otto Chlup, her husband Finn, brother Edward Clupp (Dorothy), sisters Esther Casper (Walter), Theresa Scott, Violet Clupp, and Evelyn Jones (Ron), brothers-in-law Helgi, Andy, Con, and Chris Anderson.
In lieu of flowers, the family requested donations be made to the Lung Association of Manitoba.
