Our Administrative & Funeral Staff

The success of any company is its people.

All the staff at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre play a critical role with every family we serve.

Marilyn Hill, Comptroller
Office Phone: 204-949-2200
Fax: 204-694-9494

I came to work with Neil Bardal Funeral Centre in May of 2006 as the Comptroller.

For the previous 30 years, I worked along side my husband in our Electrical Contracting business in Alberta, British Columbia and Manitoba.

We have two daughters attending University; one in Winnipeg and the other in Alberta.

I am thoroughly enjoying working in the funeral business.

Franca Tedone, Funeral Office Administration

Franca was born on May 6, 1971 in Winnipeg. She was raised in Garden City. Upon graduating from Garden City Collegiate, she spent a time at the University of Manitoba and Success Compu College.

She is married and has two children and resides in Winnipeg.

Prior to working at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre; Franca was an office manager for an audio visual company for over 10 years and has over 15 years experience in office administration.

Franca started with the company in May, 2010, and works closely with the Funeral Directors in the Funeral Office to co-ordinate all the necessary paperwork required by families.
She also works directly with families to create their unique funeral bulletins and memorial cards.

Joe Kanaski, Cremationist
Office Phone: 204-949-2204
Fax: 204-694-9494

Joe was born in 1962 and raised in Beausejour, Manitoba and had spent almost 20 years working for the Town of Beausejour.

Realizing it was time for a career change, Joe always had an interest in the funeral industry. He had a chance to work as a cremationist in 2005, and in March, 2008 was hired by us as a cremationist and has proven to be a perfect fit.

If you ask him, Joe will tell you that he loves his job, is grateful to the Bardal family for giving him the opportunity to work in their state of the art cremation and funeral facility on Notre Dame Avenue, and is hoping to provide many years of dedicated and professional service.

Mona Josephson, Funeral Celebrant

Fax: 204-694-9494

Mona Josephson has been a Funeral Celebrant since May, 2003.

Gimli is home to Mona and her two children, Brandon and Stephanie and her granddaughters Benna and Nora.

Neil offered Mona her “Dream Job” in July 2009 and shares her experience to help families as they journey through one of life's most difficult times. She also works with Eirik in Gimli to help families pre-plan their funeral arrangements.

Mona is also a Lay Pastoral Assistant at the Gimli Lutheran Church, Palliative Care Volunteer and a Marriage Commissioner for the Province of Manitoba

Lee Barringer, Celebrant

A celebrant speaker is an alternative to having a minister or clergy person. It is often the case where a family have not had a strong church background, or perhaps feel that a religious service would not be reflective of the deceased and/or the surviving family's values and beliefs. Many times these services are called non-denominational, secular or humanist.

Though families do ask at times for a scripture passage to be read, a celebrant does not make scripture the main focal point of the service.
Lee will meet with family prior to the service, and learn more about the life of their loved one. He will then arrange stories, readings and music that will reflect their life, while honoring the emotional needs of the surviving family and friends.

A celebration of life is an important ritual that should be both personal and meaningful.
If I can help serve your family in this time of need, I will do so with dignity.

Lee Barringer
